Lemon Ginger Turmeric Shot recipe (no juicer)
Don't wait for cough and cold. Make this versatile lemon ginger turmeric shot with fresh ingredients to boost your immune system. Drink it as a warm detox tonic or enjoy it chilled as ginger turmeric juice. No juicer required!
fresh turmeric root, peeled and grated
(or 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric)
fresh ginger, peeled and grated
Add grated turmeric, ginger and fresh cracked pepper to 3 cups of water and bring it to a boil.
Simmer for 5 minutes over medium heat.
Remove from heat and strain the liquid.
Add lemon juice. Stir in the sweetener as required. Mix well.
Serve hot or cold.
If fresh turmeric root is unavailable, ground turmeric can be used.
For more flavor, add lemon zest after removing from heat. Let it sit for 5 minutes before straining.
Turmeric orange juice:
As a variation, squeeze 3 tablespoons of fresh orange juice along with lemon.
