Incredible, isn’t it? You have to cook the curry to believe that it is possible to make a chicken curry with 5 ingredients.
South Indian chicken curry without coconut milk. No cream, tomatoes or curry powder required, either!
Eat with rice, pulao or naan.
Saute cumin, chilies, shallots, ginger and garlic in oil.
Cool the shallot, ginger, garlic, spice mixture. Blend into a smooth paste.
Heat oil in a pan and saute the onion paste. Add chicken and salt. Stir until browned. Add water and cook covered. Bring it to a boil and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes until chicken is cooked.
When you taste it, you won't believe it's a 5 ingredient chicken curry and more importantly, without coconut milk!
