This is a time-saving recipe for homemade Indian curry paste with simple ingredients.
Make curries with anything- panneer/ veggies/ meat/ fish or eggs!
Chilli powder Kashmiri chilli powder Ground coriander Turmeric powder Ground cumin Pepper & salt
Oil Onions Ginger Garlic Tomatoes Green chillies
Place onions, ginger, garlic and green chillies in a blender or food processor and blend.
Blend until you get a coarse paste. You can blend further to a smooth paste if you want a smoother curry.
Heat oil in a saute pan or wok. Saute the blended onion paste in oil on medium flame for 10 minutes. The paste would brown slightly, giving a nice aroma!
Blend the tomatoes to make a smooth puree. Add the tomato puree to the sauteed browned onion ginger garlic mixture.
Add chilli powder, Kashmiri chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric and salt to the onion tomato mixture. Kashmiri chilli powder gives the red color to the curry paste.
Saute the onion tomato paste with all the spices until well browned and the whole paste comes together. Turn off when the paste starts releasing oil.
Use this simple Indian curry paste to make mixed vegetable curry, dal, chicken curry, fish curry, egg curry and panner butter masala!
