 Ingredients for Baked Chicken Tikka

lemon juice

yogurt

salt

Kashmiri chili powder

coriander powder

Garam masala

besan

Chili powder

pepper

ginger garlic paste

Boneless chicken

Mustard oil

Cinnamon

First Marinade

Clean and dice the chicken. Mix in salt, pepper, ginger garlic paste and lime juice. Keep it aside for 10 minutes.

Heat mustard oil. Add to chili powder. Let it cool. Add ginger garlic paste, yogurt and rest of the spices.

Second Marinade

Whisk all the marinade ingredients into a homogenous paste. Add this tandoori masala to the chicken and mix well.

Roast besan/chickpea flour on low flame until it gives a nice aroma. Sprinkle it on the marinated chicken and mix.

Thread the chicken cubes onto skewers. Place the skewers on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

Assemble

 Bake in the oven at 230°C/446°F for 10 minutes.  Take out the tray and baste the chicken tikka with ghee/melted butter.  Return the tray to the oven and cook for 10 more minutes.
