Jeera chicken is a quick and easy chicken breast recipe that can be made in about 30 minutes in a pan.
This healthy cumin-spiced chicken is made with simple everyday ingredients and is ideal for a weeknight dinner.
Mix chicken with chili powder, salt, lime juice and yogurt. Let it marinate while you prepare the rest of the ingredients.
Step 1: Marinate
Heat oil in a pan. Add onions and fry until they turn translucent. Add ginger garlic paste and minced green chilies.
Step 2: Saute
Once the raw smell of ginger and garlic vanishes, add the marinated chicken and saute until they change color. Cover the pan and let it cook for 10 minutes.
Dry roast peppercorns, cumin and coriander seeds on very low flame until you get a nice aroma. Cool the mixture and grind using a blender.
Step 3: Blend Jeera Spicemix
Open the pan and check if the chicken is cooked. If not, cover and cook for a couple of minutes more. Once chicken is cooked, add the jeera spicemix.
Step 4: Add Spicemix
Stir the jeera chicken on medium flame for a few minutes until it is browned well. Turn off the flame.
Heat a little oil in a pan. Add some roughly chopped cashews and curry leaves. Saute until the cashews are browned.
Step 5: Garnish
Add the roasted cashews and curry leaves to the jeera chicken. Roughly chop a handful of coriander leaves and sprinkle for added flavor.
