4 ingredient turmeric tea recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh turmeric root, minced (or 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric)
  • 2 teaspoons fresh ginger, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon peppercorns freshly cracked
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • honey/sugar/maple syrup to taste (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Add minced turmeric, ginger and fresh cracked pepper to 3 cups of water and bring it to a boil.
  • Simmer for 5 minutes over medium heat.
  • Remove from heat and strain the liquid.
  • Add lemon juice. Add sweetener if required. Mix well.
  • Serve hot or cold.

Notes

  1. If fresh turmeric root is unavailable, ground turmeric can be used.
  2. For added flavor, boil lemon zest along with the other ingredients.
