Easy Kerala Fish Curry

Mix chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt in a small bowl.

Step 1: Season the fish

Clean and season the fish with the mixed spices. Drizzle lemon juice and mix well. Keep aside.

Soak tamarind in ¼ cup of hot water for about 10 minutes.

Roughly chop pearl onions and place them in a blender jar with grated coconut, cumin, and tamarind.

Step 3: Make  Coconut Paste

Blend the ingredients until you get a smooth paste.

Transfer the coconut onion paste to a deep pot. Add 1 cup of water and mix.

Step 4: Make Fish Curry

Add the spices: chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt. Stir until the spices are mixed well.

Bring the gravy to a boil. Once it starts boiling, add the seasoned fish.

Reduce the flame and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes until the fish is cooked.

Drizzle coconut oil. Turn off the flame immediately. Garnish with torn curry leaves.
