How to make salmon taco bowls: step by step
(You can find the exact measurements and instructions in the printable recipe card at the end of this page. Here are step-by-step instructions with pictures to help you easily understand the recipe.)
1. Cook the salmon
Preheat the oven to 210°C/410°F.
Mix the ingredients for the taco seasoning in a small bowl. Remove the skin and cut each salmon fillet into 4 equal chunks.
Add the taco seasoning to the salmon pieces and toss until all the pieces are coated with the seasoning. Drizzle olive oil and lemon juice.

Place the salmon on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Place the sheet pan in the middle rack of the oven and cook for 8 minutes.

Remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest while you prepare the other components of the taco bowl.
2. Cook cilantro lime basmati rice

3. Prepare corn mango salsa

4. Blend avocado crema

How to Assemble the Salmon Taco Bowls
- Start with the base: Add a generous layer of cilantro lime rice to your bowl.
- Spoon in the black beans: Add a layer of drained black beans.
- Add the fresh salsa: Spoon over the mango corn salsa for a burst of sweetness and crunch.
- Add the salmon: Top with the warm, taco-seasoned salmon pieces.
- Finish with the crema: Drizzle the creamy avocado crema over the top.
- Optional: Add a squeeze of lime or extra cilantro just before serving for a fresh finish.

Variations and substitutions
- Try shrimp or any other flaky fish like cod, tilapia or snapper instead.
- Make it dairy-free or vegan (swap salmon with tofu or lentil/chickpea patties)
- Use couscous, brown rice or quinoa instead of lime cilantro rice
- Add extra veggies like lettuce or peppers
- Use roasted garlic yogurt sauce instead of avocado crema.
- You can replace mango corn salsa with jalapeno mango salsa or pineapple salsa with avocado.
